How Do I Enroll in Adult Education?

Hey!

Want to find out how to enroll in the Iron County Adult Education Program?  First, you'll need to have a relaxing summer.  Our program begins taking new students the week of August 23rd, 2010.  You'll need to come visit or call us as early as Monday, August 23rd to sign up for Student Orientations that are going on that week in August.

Have a great summer, and we'll see you soon!

Summer Message

Dear Students:

Happy summer from the Iron County Adult Education Program! Our school year ends May 27, 2010. We won’t be offering official classes during the summer, although students already enrolled can sign up for self-study summer school by asking a staff member in rooms 3 or 5. We’ll also be offering one day of family literacy programming for students enrolled in Even Start for six weeks of the summer through mid July.

We’ll re-open for enrollment on August 23, 2010. We hope to see you then!  If you are attending summer school, you must return on that date to re-enroll and receive credit for your summer studies.

If you have questions about summer school, enrolling next year, or what programs we offer, please explore this website. Steve's Quarterly Message

**4th Quarter Begins on March 22nd**

Dear Student:

Just as spring is starting, our new quarter begins. A lot of people take this time to clean out their houses and get a fresh start – it’s also a great time to refresh your commitment to your goals. With just two months left until summer break, now is the time to come to class and make sure you achieve the academic goals you set for yourself.

The 4th Quarter begins Monday, March 22nd. If you have any course work that needs to be submitted, please take your work to room 5. Remember to pay this quarter’s $10 materials fee  to room 3 before Thursday, April 8th to keep your student status current.

If you are working on your high school diploma, be aware of changes beginning May 27th with language arts, math, science, and elective requirements.  Unfortunately, we will not be open in the summer this year. IMPORTANT: If you are graduating this year, you MUST SUBMIT ALL ASSIGNMENTS and PASS ALL TESTS by THURSDAY, MAY 20TH at 8:00 p.m.

If you are currently enrolled, you have the option to continue working on assignments, packets, workbooks, PLATO, etc. during the summer on your own. In order to do so, you must see a staff member to get assignments before school ends. Then, in order to receive credit for those assignments, you must re-enroll in school next year. The 2010-2011 school year begins Monday, August 23.

Our graduation ceremony will be combined with Southwest Education Academy’s on Thursday, May 27th, 7 p.m., at Cedar High School. If you would like to be part of the ceremony, please sign up by April 20th at the front desk in room 3.

Our mission is to help you accomplish your academic goals. Please let us know if you need additional help or have any questions with your studies. Please take advantage of our flexible program hours (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) for the weeks remaining.  Good luck in your studies, and congratulations on taking this huge step toward achieving your goals.

Sincerely,

 Steve Schofield, Program Coordinator
